Instant Medical Account for Lifetime Protection

Once Whole Life Medicash Account Insurance Plan policy is issued, you are entitled to a Medical Account to pay for your hospital confinement expenses until the age of 99 (Age Last Birthday) or the value of the Medical Account reaches zero, whichever is earlier1.

 
Fixed Benefit Payment for Flexible Use

Remarks:
1. Hospital confinement due to sickness or symptoms occurs within 30 days after the Commencement Date of Insurance or effective date of reinstatement (except hospital confinement due to accident) will be excluded.
2. If hospital confinement occurs outside Covered Areas, the "Daily Hospital Cash Benefit", "Miscellaneous Hospital Expenses Benefit" and "Surgical Cash Benefit" shall be reduced by 50%. Maximum benefits payable per hospital confinement for "Daily Hospital Cash Benefit" and "Miscellaneous Hospital Expenses Benefit" are up to 90 days. No "Intensive Care Unit Benefit" is payable if hospital confinement is outside Covered Areas.
3. This insurance plan is available for those who are Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan residents holding a Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan Identity Card.
4. 2 or more hospital confinements caused by same or related injury or sickness will be considered as one hospital confinement if these hospital confinements are separated within 90 days from the discharge date in respect of its preceding hospital confinement.
5. If the Insured undergoes more than one surgery during the same hospital confinement, only one surgery which entitles to the highest amount of Surgical Cash Benefit shall be payable. Any surgical procedure or operation not listed in the Surgical Schedule will be at the Company’s sole and absolute discretion in determining the classification of such surgical procedure or operation.
6. "Critical Illness Benefit" shall be payable if the insured is the first confirmed diagnosed to be suffering from the covered illness or he/she undergoes a covered operation after 90 days from the Commencement Date of Insurance or effective date of reinstatement and the insured survives for at least 30 days. "Critical Illness Benefit" shall be payable only once during the whole policy term.
7. "Life Benefit" payable will be deducted by the Total Claims Paid. If death due to suicide occurs within the first 13 months from the Commencement Date of Insurance, Life Benefit will be limited to a refund of premiums paid minus Total Claims Paid.
8. The interest rate for dividend accumulation (current rate is 3.55% per annum), the Annual Dividend and Special Dividend are not guaranteed. Dividends shall be declared annually whereas Special Dividends will be payable upon policy surrender, policy expiry or death of the Insured after the policy has been inforced for 10 years. Total Claims Paid will be deducted from the Cash Value. Dividends paid are not guaranteed and may change during the policy term. Dividends will be declared annually and you may choose to withdraw them in cash or leave them in the policy to earn interest. The payment of dividends and their respective amounts under participating policies issued by MetLife Limited is subject to a number of factors, including (a) the performance of the investment of the relevant assets of the relevant company, (b) operating expenses of the relevant company, and (c) claims experience of the relevant company in respect of such policies. Any dividends declared in the future may be lower or higher than the above quoted and past performance is not indicative of future performance.
9. "Waiver of Premium" is only applicable to the insured aged between 18 and 55 and the coverage expires at age 65 of the insured.
10. "24-hour Worldwide Emergency Assistance Service" is provided by International SOS (HK) Limited. MetLife Limited reserves the right to change the service provider and its services.
11. Exclusion terms include but not limited to self destruction, any intentional self-inflicted injury, or attempted suicide; or pregnancy, childbirth, miscarriage, abortion or any related complications; or cosmetic or plastic surgery or any elective surgery; or dental treatment or surgery unless necessitated by a Bodily Injury and certified to be necessary by a Physician; or any unlawful or illegal act of the Insured Person; or general medical check-ups or regular medical examinations; or any Pre-existing Medical Condition. 2. The Plan is an insurance plan with a savings element. Part of the premium pays for the insurance and related costs. If you are not happy with your policy, you have a right to cancel it within the Cooling-off Period and obtain a refund of any premiums paid provided that you have not made any claim under this policy. A written notice signed by you together with the policy must be received by MetLife Limited at its Hong Kong office within the Cooling-off Period (that is, 21 days after the delivery of the policy or the issue of a Notice informing you/your representative about the availability of the policy and the expiry date of the Cooling-off Period, whichever is earlier). After the expiration of the Cooling-off Period, if you cancel the policy before the end of the term of policy as set out in the policy document, the projected total cash value payable (if any) may be less than the total premiums you have paid.
3. MetLife Limited is the insurance underwriter of the Plan and is solely responsible for all Plan features, policy approval, coverage and benefit payment. MetLife Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MetLife, Inc. in Hong Kong and operates under the “MetLife” brand.
