Save Paper Statement Service Fee (With effect from 1 July 2018)
  • Effective from 1 July 2018, customers who have chosen to receive paper statement will be charged HK$20 per type of statement semi-annually. Subscribing to Fubon e-Statement service can exempt from the service fee.

Customers who have chosen to receive paper statement will be charged HK$20 semi-annually.

How and when will the service fee be imposed?
The Paper Statement Service Fee will be applied to the “Consolidated Statement” (effective from 1 July 2018)


Example:

Who will be exempted from the Paper Statement Service Fee?
Customers who meet the following criteria will be exempted from Paper Statement Service Fee:

  1. Aged below 18 or aged 65 and above;
  2. Recipients of Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (supporting documents required);
  3. Customers who present a documentary proof of disability (e.g. document of receiving government disability allowance);
  4. Monthly salary below HKD8,000 (supporting documents required);
  5. Customers enjoying Fubon Ambassador Banking Wealth Management Services; or
  6. Customers of Mortgage Loan, Personal Installment Loan, Life Insurance.


For customer who meets criteria (2), (3) or (4) but has not informed the Bank about the status, please visit our branch for fee exemption arrangement ^. For joint accounts, if either one of the account holders meets any one of the above exemption criteria, the said fee will also be exempted.

Remarks:
^Eligible customers are required to inform the Bank proactively in order to apply for the exemptions by providing supporting documents.

What accounts will be charged for receiving paper statements?
Paper Statement Service Fee will be charged to below account(s) if customer continues to receives paper statements for “Consolidated Statement”:

  • Fubon magi©money manager HKD Interest-Bearing Current Account
  • Fubon magi©money manager USD Interest-Bearing Current Account
  • Fubon magi©money manager RMB Interest-Bearing Current Account
  • HKD & Other Foreign Currencies Current Account
  • HKD & Other Foreign Currencies Statement Savings Account#
  • HKD & Other Foreign Currencies Multi-currency Savings Account


*The fee is not applicable to credit card, loans, mortgage and investment accounts.
#The fee will temporarily not be charged to the Statement Savings Accounts which are automatically converted from Passbook Savings Accounts due to the core banking system upgrade

  1. Aged below 18 or aged 65 and above;

Will I be charged on a pro-rata basis if I register for e-Statement service during the last month of the Calculation Period?
No. The fee will not be charged on pro-rata basis. The HK$20 service fee will be applied if 1 or more paper statement(s) is / are generated for each type of account during the Calculation Period.

I am one of the holders of a joint account and I am eligible for a fee waiver, will the account be exempted as well?
Yes. If either one of the account holders meets any one of the exemption criteria, the said fee will also be exempted.

Can I request to obtain a copy of paper statement after I subscribed to the e-Statement service? Is there any charge?
Yes. You can request to obtain a copy of paper statement for a particular month, however, a service fee will be applied. Please refer to our List of Service Charges for details. For individual and joint account customers who obtain printed Consolidated Statement and / or Credit Card Statement can enjoy a fee waiver for no more than 6 copies per year. Such fee waiver is only applicable to the period from the expiration of 13 months (counted from the issuance date of the relevant statement) upto 7 years.

Will my credit card account with paper statement be charged?
No. Credit Card accounts will not be charged.

Will my investment account with paper statement be charged?
No. Investment account has been exempted from paper statement fees.

I have a personal account and an investment account. Will I be charged for receiving paper statement? How much would I be charged?
Yes. You may choose to receive paper statement or e-Statement for your “Consolidated Statement” and “Investment Monthly Statement / Equities Consolidated Daily Statement”. If you choose to receive paper statements for both of your personal account and the investment account, you will be charged HK$20/semi-annually for receiving paper “Consolidated Statement”.

If I have Fixed Deposit Account only (no Savings/Current Account), will I be charged for the paper statement fee?
No. No paper statement will be generated for Fixed Deposit Account, therefore no service fee will be charged.

If I have more than 1 personal account with paper statement (e.g. HKD Current Account & HKD Statement Savings Account), will each personal account be charged?
No. Only one Consolidated Statement will be generated and charged.

Which kind of browser should I use to view e-Statement?
Currently Fubon e-Statement Service supports Internet Explorer (IE 11 or above) browser.
