Fubon Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (“Fubon Bank”) was born in Hong Kong on April 6, 2005 and entered into a new era. To welcome the new Fubon brand, the branch network was renovated with a new design. At the same time, Fubon Bank launched three corporate commercials on TV and in newspapers (including the Dentist, the Shoe Shop and the Piano), aimed at introducing the Bank’s new business philosophy and commitment - a better banking experience providing you with more than you expect - “Value Banking”.


To celebrate the birth of Fubon Bank, the Bank launched a “Fubon Baby” Promotion. Babies who were born on the same day as Fubon Bank and registered as a “Fubon Baby” received a HK$500 Birthday Lai See. An encouraging response was received and one of the “Fubon Babies”, Wu Chi Yin, won a US$20,000 Education Savings Plan, which provides life insurance protection and an education fund for her future use.


Ms. Shera Lee, Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Banking said, “Children are our future and we believe that education is of paramount importance. Therefore, we specially offered an education savings plan to the lucky “Fubon Baby” to subsidize its future tertiary education. I would like to take this opportunity to wish our winner, Wu Chi Yin, and her family, all the best in their future endeavors.”


In addition to “Fubon Baby”, Fubon Bank launched a series of promotional activities, including: “MINI Cooper Lucky Draw”, Fixed Deposit Program, Fubon Ambassador Banking Service Launch and Interest Free Offer for IPO Financing. All these high quality banking products and services further substantiated the Value Banking platform of Fubon Bank.


Ms. Lee continued, “Fubon Bank has launched both a corporate brand building campaign and other product promotional activities that have received positive comments from the public. In the past three months, we have successfully solicited a group of new customers through the new Fubon brand, which can facilitate our cross-selling activities of other banking services.”

2) Unit Trust Services

Recently, more customers are looking for alternative investment opportunities and many customers have turned to invest in unit trusts for diversification and their potentially higher returns. Therefore, Fubon Bank has offered an exclusive unit trust offer to customers with 2.5% subscription fee for designated funds.


3) Credit Card

To enhance the new Fubon brand, the Bank has launched a series of newly designed Fubon Credit Cards and has arranged card replacements for all existing customers. Also, Fubon Credit Card will, based on individual customers’ card usage and credit status, raise customer’s credit limit. Moreover, to enable customers to further experience the bank’s Value Banking services, Fubon Credit Card will continue to solicit new and hot products and service offers to customers.


Referring to the overall credit card business, with the opening of the Positive Data Bureau, Fubon Bank will adopt a more effective credit approval strategy to capture new customers. And the Bank will further enhance its “Personalized Interest Rate” so that customers will be offered with the most favorable interest rate according to their risk level.


4) Ambassador Banking Services

Fubon Ambassador Banking service is tailor-made for high net-worth customers to meet their needs of investment and asset management. Customers with assets of HK$1 million or above with the Bank are eligible for the service. Our professional Ambassadors will provide customers with tailor-made financial arrangements, together with various personalized banking services, including the latest market information provided by Standard & Poor’s as well as a perpetual annual fee waiver of Fubon Ambassador Banking Platinum Card.
