How to make a FPS x PromptPay QR Payment in Thailand?

How to make a FPS x PromptPay QR Payment in Thailand?You have to activate the “Cross Border QR Payment” function in Fubon+ in advance, then scan the PromptPay QR code of Thailand merchants2 and select the HKD account to make transfer.

Activate “Cross Border QR Payment” function
In Fubon+, select “Cross Border QR Payment”on Settings page. The service will be activated after setting the (1) Daily Transaction Limit, (2) Daily Small Value Transaction Limit and the (3) Effective Period of this service.

Scan PromptPay QR Code of Thailand merchants and complete the payment
After activated the service, select “QR Code Pay” on “Transfer / FPS” page, scan the merchants’ QR code, select HKD account and confirm the amount and exchange rate. The payment is completed after click “Confirm”.

Terms and Conditions for Fubon FPS Thailand QR Payment Promotional Offer (“Promotional Offer”):

  1. The promotion period for the Promotional Offer runs from now till 30 April 2024, both dates inclusive (“Promotion Period”).
  2. The Promotional Offer is exclusive to customers of Fubon Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the “Bank” /”Fubon Bank”) with individual account and have set Fubon Bank as the default receiving bank of mobile number using FPS Addressing Service and maintain such addressing setting at the time of cash rebate is being awarded (“Eligible Customer(s)”).
  3. Within the Promotion Period, Eligible Customer(s) successfully enroll of MyWay Travel (Single Trip) Insurance Plan (“Policy”) of MSIG Insurance (Hong Kong) Limited (“MSIG”) whose relevant application is made on MSIG's insurance application website accessed through the website of Fubon Bank and successfully make a payment to Thailand merchants that support PromptPay via QR Code Pay (“Thailand QR Payment”) are entitled to the cash rebate from the Bank, which the rebate amount is equivalent to the discounted premium paid for the Policy with maximum rebate up to HK$300.
  4. Each Eligible Customer may only enjoy Promotional Offer once. If Eligible Customer(s) or the same valid Hong Kong mobile number are applied in Policy for multiple times during the Promotion Period, the cash rebate will only be calculated based on the policy with the highest premium.
  5. Eligible Customer(s) are required to apply Policy with a valid Hong Kong mobile number which is matched with the Bank’s record. And the policyholder must also be the same person who holds a personal account of the Bank.
  6. Eligible Customer(s) are required to register the Bank FPS Service and activate FPS Cross Border QR Payment Service with Mobile Security Key before proceeding the Thailand QR Payment. The network location of Eligible Customer(s) must be in Thailand while using the Thailand QR Payment and it is subject to the network location detected by the Bank. Thailand QR Payment can only make payment through scanning QR Code of merchants that support FPS x PromptPay. Some non-participating banks’ QR codes or PromptPay personal QR codes do not support FPS x PromptPay. The Bank is not responsible for any failure of transaction payment due to customer's own reasons, network issues or other unforeseen reasons, and will not distribute cash rebates or make any compensation for any reason or forms.
  7. Promotional Offer can be used along with “Thai Easy-Pay” Flash Offer at the same time.
  8. The cash rebate cannot be converted into other equal value item.
  9. The maximum quota for this Promotional Offer is limited while quota last. The Bank will not calculate and notify customers of the remaining quota of this Promotional Offer during the Promotion Period.
  10. The cash rebate will be deposited to the active individual Bank HKD account that is registered in the Bank FPS Service for customers who are eligible for the cash rebate on or before 31 October 2024. The Bank will not announce the results and / or notify to the customers who are eligible for the cash rebate individually.
  11. Customers who are eligible for the cash rebate are required to maintain Fubon Bank as the default receiving bank of mobile number in FPS Addressing Service and hold a valid individual Fubon Bank HKD account at the time of cash rebate is being awarded. Otherwise, the related cash rebate will be forfeited and will not provide to the Eligible Customer in any alternative method. The Bank reserves the right to deal with all forfeited cash rebate in such manner as the Bank shall deem fit.
  12. Joint-named account customers and corporate account customers are not eligible the Promotional Offer.
  13. For all records of services and transactions in this Promotional Offer, record of the Bank shall prevail.
  14. These terms and conditions are related to the promotional offer only. No reference has been made to any MSIG insurance policy or any coverage or content. Customers are advised to read and understand the Policy before applying for the relevant insurance.
  15. The Bank reserve the right to vary or terminate the Promotional Offer at any time and to amend the terms and conditions from time to time without prior notice. In case of any dispute arising from the rebate method, the eligibility of Eligible Customer(s), details of the cash rebate and all related matters, the decision of the Bank shall be final and conclusive.
  16. If there are any dishonest and / or fraudulent acts by the Eligible Customer(s) that led to the cash rebate of this Promotional Offer, the Bank reserves the right to disqualify the Eligible Customer(s) from this Promotional Offer. The Bank also reserves the right to deduct the cash rebate to the Eligible Customer(s) directly from the Eligible Customer(s)’ bank account without prior notice or take legal action to recover any outstanding amounts.

  18. Other than the Bank and Eligible Customer(s), no one shall have the right to enforce or enjoy the benefits of any of these Terms and Conditions under Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (Cap 623, Laws of Hong Kong).
  19. Should there be any inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.

Terms and Conditions for “Thai Easy-Pay” Flash Offer (“Flash Offer”)

  1. The promotion period for the Flash Offer runs from 22 March 2024 to 30 April 2024, both dates inclusive (“Promotion Period”).
  2. The Flash Offer is exclusive to customers of Fubon Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the “Bank” /”Fubon Bank”) with individual account and have set Fubon Bank as the default receiving bank of mobile number using FPS Addressing Service and maintain such addressing setting at the time of cash rebate is being awarded (“Eligible Customer(s)”).
  3. Within the Promotion Period, for each successful payment to Thailand merchants that support PromptPay via QR Code Pay (“Thailand QR Payment”), Eligible Customer will receive HK$15 cash rebate. Throughout the Promotion Period, maximum of 20 times’ cash rebate can be received. (Equivalent to HK$300.)
  4. Eligible Customer(s) are required to register the Bank FPS Service and activate FPS Cross Border QR Payment Service with Mobile Security Key before proceeding the Thailand QR Payment. The network location of Eligible Customer(s) must be in Thailand while using the Thailand QR Payment and it is subject to the network location detected by the Bank. Thailand QR Payment can only make payment through scanning QR Code of merchants that support FPS x PromptPay.
